1999年9月,为维护东帝汶的和平与安全,积极参与联合国东帝汶维和行动,充分发挥我国作为联合国安理会常任理事国在国际事务中的重大作用,应联合国请求,我国向东帝汶派出了第二批维和民警。江西省公安厅刑侦总队黎光明、南昌市公安局出入境管理处杨敏同志作为我省首批维和民警被派遣到任务区。在执行维和任务期间,他们克服了条件艰苦、环境恶劣等困难,以顽强的意志和毅力,努力工作,恪尽职守,公正执法,出色地完成了各项任务,并以一流的素质和突出的工作成绩,荣获了联合国颁发的“联合国勋章”,展现了中国维和民警的良好形象和风采,也为我省公安民警争了光。为此,我们特别刊发了黎光明和杨敏两位同志自己采写的,在东帝汶维和时的工作生活情况,以飨读者。
In September 1999, in order to safeguard peace and security in East Timor, actively participate in UN peacekeeping operations in East Timor and give full play to our country’s great role in international affairs as a permanent member of the UN Security Council, our country sent the second peacekeeping mission to East Timor at the request of the United Nations Police. Jiangxi Province Public Security Bureau Criminal Investigation Corps Li Guangming, Nanchang Public Security Bureau Exit-Entry Administration Comrade Yang Min as the first peacekeeping police in our province was sent to the mission area. During the peacekeeping mission, they overcame various difficulties such as hardship and harsh environment. They worked hard, persevere, and law-abiding with their tenacious willpower and perseverance. They accomplished various tasks well, and with first-class quality and outstanding achievements , Won the “United Nations Medal” issued by the United Nations, demonstrating the good image and style of China’s peacekeeping police and fighting for the police of our province. To this end, we specially published the working and living conditions of the two parties Comrades Li Guangming and Yang Min himself wrote in peacekeeping in East Timor to readers.
