白榆(Ulmus pumila L.)是新疆乡土树种和平原地区主要造林树种之一.为了寻找新疆境内的优良白榆种源,我们在参加全国白榆种源选择研究的同时,于1980年收集了新疆12个不同产地白榆种子进行了本项试验.一、造林地概况本试验分苗期和造林期两个阶段,苗期试验设在乌鲁木齐市本院六道湾林业试验站,造林地设在呼图壁县干河子林场.造林地土壤为粘壤土,板结,肥力低,土层厚2米以上,pH8.0—8.5,地下水位在40米以下,主要靠天山雪水灌溉.1982年至1987年造林期间,1984年冬季出现异常低温,12月平均气温-25.9℃,极端最低气温达-37℃.
