The United States is a country with many natural disasters. The entire western, central and eastern regions are earthquake-hit areas. Hurricanes hit the southern coastal areas, and the drought and floods are also very serious. Due to the importance attached to public safety, many natural disasters did not cause serious personal injury. For example, the 1994 Northern California earthquake hit the densely populated area of Los Angeles, killing just 61 people. The article discusses natural disasters in the United States and believes that long-term disaster prevention is necessary.
