Literary all-rounder Susan Sontag’s literary creation and theoretical writings are inter-related and have inherent consistency. “Silent Aesthetics ” is one of the core ideas of its criticism system, referring to both the closed personality and implicit “shock therapy ” which liberates oneself and redeems others. In two plays, “Karl Brothers” and “Alice on the Bed,” Sontag constructs the “silent” body and uses silence as a metaphor to challenge power. Script directed at the absurdity of the world, emphasizing that excessive attention with a view to breaking the silence is actually on the “existence” intrusion, silence can become a means of treatment, in the reflection and negation of the revaluation of past values.
