Researchers in the recently published Year of Rheumatology (ARD) report that patients with the most severe rheumatoid arthritis exhibit the lowest immune cell response to Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) glycoprotein gp110. The researchers believe this finding may support the previously reported fact that changes in the immune response to EBV antibodies may affect the course of rheumatoid arthritis.
