The effects of residual stresses on the fatigue properties of welded joints were theoretically analyzed using the theory of linear elastic fracture mechanics (LEFM), superposition principle and finite element analysis. Using the Bueckner and Kanazawa weight functions of the boundary crack and the center-penetrating crack in the finite plate, the residual stress intensity factor corresponding to various residual stress distributions in the welded joint is calculated. The fatigue crack fatigue model considering the influence of different residual stress levels was established, and the fatigue life and fatigue strength of the welded joints were estimated. The results were compared with the experimental data.
