食管癌的发病原因尚不清楚。河南省林县各级食管癌防治研究队,1959年以来在林县食管癌高发地区调查了生活饮食习惯、居住条件、遗传和传染等因素,对食管癌发生的关系。1971年以来又对环境水土中微量元素和可疑致癌物质,作了对此调查分析;对林县肉类加工厂宰杀的羊、驴、鸡食管内脏的病理变化作了检查,并用甲基苄基亚硝胺致癌物质在实验动物中诱发食管癌。对食管癌的病因问题进行了探讨,为今后的工作提供了线索。
