打印机是计算机的重要外部设备,近年来虽然在各方面作了多项改进,性能日趋完善、优良,但在微小型计算机系统中,打印机仍然是整个系统中最昂贵的设备之一。根据在纸上打印的方法,打印机可以分成撞击式和非撞击式两大类。撞击式打印机是利用撞击色带,把文字图形印在纸上,常见的有下列几种:点阵式打印机;固定字轮打印机(如菊花轮打印机);链式打印机;鼓形打印机;轮形打印机和带式打印机等。非撞击式打印机不是利用机械撞击的方式印字,而采用其他物理过程实现字、图的印刷,其中有:喷墨式打印机;激光打印机;热敏打印机;电感应式打印机;磁性打印机;离子沉积式打印机和静电打印机等。
