I. INTRODUCTION Fushou grass is a medicinal plant produced in northeastern China. The whole grass and underground parts are available for medicinal use. Its name is not found in the records of ancient Chinese literature. It was described by Maximovicz as an Adonis with an incomplete specimen. A variant of the appen-nina plant A.appennina var.dahurica Maxim.; later reclassified by Regel and Radd, originally named A.amurensis Regel et Radd., whose species name “Amurensis” refers to its original discovery.
