林学大(1895—1963)分别于1923年和1938年参与创办中国厦门美术专科学校及新加坡南洋美术专科学校,一生为推动美术教育而鞠躬尽瘁死而后已。中日战争时南迁新加坡,他凭着坚毅信念,推动西式美术教育,在辅助华侨教育的同时,强调沟通东西艺术,建立马来新美术,倡导和引领了马来西亚和新加坡独具热带情调,多元文化特质的“南洋美术”风格,有“南洋美术之父”的美誉,然其功绩伟业却因为国家的单一文化政策而被忽略。本文从宏观历史视野论述林学大南迁创办南洋美专的艰辛始末,支持抗日救援的爱国情操,坚持塑造本土化美育精神的使命感和艺术创作观,及提携后进、培养人才的无私精神;进而分析他于国家独立前所提出的南洋美术纲领的前瞻性及深层意义,期望从多视角重构一位有血有肉的艺术教育家。
In 1923 and 1938, Lin Xueda (1895-1963) participated in the founding of Xiamen Art College of China and Nanyang Art College of Singapore, all of his life to promote art education. In the Sino-Japanese War, he moved southward to Singapore. With the perseverance and belief, he promoted Western art education. While assisting in teaching overseas Chinese, he emphasized that he should communicate the art of East and West and establish a new art of Malaya. He advocated and led the unique tropical atmosphere of Malaysia and Singapore Cultural characteristics “Nanyang art ” style, “the father of Nanyang art ” in the world, but its merit Albert but because of the country’s single cultural policy and was ignored. This article discusses from the macroscopical historical perspective the hardships and difficulties of starting the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in South China University of Science and Technology, supporting the patriotic sentiment of anti-Japanese rescue, insisting on shaping the sense of mission and artistic creation of localization aesthetic education, and cultivating the selfless spirit of talents; Analyzes the forward-looking and deep meaning of the Nanyang art program he proposed before the independence of the country, and hopes to reconstruct a flesh-and-blood arts educator from multiple perspectives.
