Western scholars used to think that “the appearance of cities, writing, metal objects and complex ceremonial centers is the manifestation of the origin of civilization in the material and cultural fields.” According to this view, Westerners have entered the Bronze Age as early as seven or eight thousand years ago, whereas China only unearthed bronzes 6,000 years ago and in very small quantities. Until 4000 years ago, China only appeared domestic copper. This situation seems to indicate that human civilization originated in the West in the last seven or eight thousand years, not in China more than 4,000 years ago. This is different from what Mr. Linhe said of “Chinese civilization was earlier than Western civilization.” For this reason, I took this question again and visited Mr. Linhe again.
