The First Session of the Eleventh National People’s Congress considered and approved the “Report on the Work of the Government” and the “Plan for the Reform of the State Department’s Institutions” made by Premier Wen Jiabao, and elected the members of the leading body of the new state. After the reform of the State Council, the State Administration of Customs is still the direct agency of the State Council. Recently, the State Council held its first plenary session. Premier Wen Jiabao delivered an important speech, made overall plans for the work of the government for the coming five years, especially this year, and put forward new demands on strengthening the government’s own construction. The main task of the organs and cadres assembly today is to learn and implement the spirit of the first session of the 11th NPC and the first plenary meeting of the State Council.
