2005年9月28日,北京奥组委执行副主席兼秘书长王伟在外国专家大厦为在京工作的外国专家们做了一场主题为2008年北京奥运的专题报告会,生动翔实地介绍了北京奥运会的筹备计划和进展,受到与会外国专家们的热烈欢迎。王伟首先介绍了北京奥组委的组织结构,随后向与会者阐释了举办一届“有特色、高水平”奥运会的深刻内涵,详细介绍了北京奥运会在场馆建设、市场开发、文化活动、竞赛组织、安保、运动会服务等方面的筹备情况,并展望了举办奥运会对北京城市发展
On September 28, 2005, Wang Wei, Executive Vice Chairman and Secretary General of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the BOCOG, made a special presentation on the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games to foreign experts working in Beijing at the Foreign Experts Building, The preparations for the Beijing Olympic Games and their progress were warmly welcomed by foreign experts attending the ceremony. Wang Wei first introduced the organizational structure of BOCOG and then explained the profound connotation of holding a “distinctive, high-level” Olympic Games to the participants. He introduced in detail the construction of Beijing Olympic Games venues, market development, cultural activities , Competition organizations, security, games and other preparations for the event, and looked forward to hosting the Olympic Games in Beijing urban development
