First, from Dortmund to Tianjin six years ago, the history of the world table tennis opened a new page. Time April 5, 1989 Beijing time in the morning, held in Dortmund, Germany, the 40th World Table Tennis Championships men’s team finals in full swing. Defending champion Chinese team tried their best to fight, hit a normal level, helpless, unable to turn the tide in both. The score of 5: 0 (of which 4: 2: 1) proved the tightness and intensity of the match and at the same time proved that the Chinese male player was actually inferior to the Swedish male player. The fact is clear: a higher level of technology, self-confidence and stronger performance of the team won the Svensling Cup. Swedish men’s team also includes the top two men’s singles. Ironically, Dortmund was once the birthplace of Chinese table tennis. Thirty years ago, Rongguo Tuan captured the Cup of St. Bride for China here. This is the first world champion in table tennis in China and the first world champion in sports in China. If Dortmund is said to be somewhat over-determined from the starting point of Chinese table tennis to the end of Chinese table tennis, it is undeniable that Dortmund’s decline from the rising point of Chinese table tennis to the lowest point in three decades.
