Objective To study the effect of rapid decompression on soft contact lenses worn by wearers, the wearer’s eyesight and cornea. Methods Eight male (16 eyes) male myopic volunteers, aged 28-46 years with a refractive power of -0.5 to -4.25 D, were followed by wearing soft contact lens with 55% water content and 38% moisture content The low-pressure cabin simulates the rapid decompression test. Each time the ascending rate is 25 m / s, it rises to 2500 m. After staying for 5 min, it rapidly decompresses to 6300 m (pressure difference 29.4 kPa) in 0.3-0.5 s and stays for 5 min. To 5 ~ 15 m / s speed down to the ground. Visual acuity, slit lamp microscopy and subjective sensory evaluation were performed before the test, before the rapid decompression of 2500 m, before the 6300 m drop, and after the test. Corneal fluorescence staining was performed after each test. Results There was no significant difference in visual acuity between wearing one lens at different heights and wearing two lenses at different heights (P> 0.05). No significant changes in the transparency of the contact lens and corneal transparency, no bubble formation was found, corneal fluorescence staining was negative. Subjective perception of visual clarity, wearing glasses no significant changes in comfort, no halo, rainbow phenomenon. Conclusion Rapid decompression on wearing soft contact lenses, wearer vision and corneal no significant effect.
