Measurement of the change in the thickness of the molybdenum coating shows that the density increases with sintering time and temperature and the coating density on the alumina is greater than the coating density on the molybdenum for a given heat treatment. We are convinced that the metalized coating on the rapidly sintered ceramic is due to the diffusion of the glass from the ceramic into the coating.
