A long, long time ago, some pleasant people lived on a remote island, the island of Nauru in the western Pacific. There is food and coconut trees here, tall and leafy Tommaro trees that can be shaded, and there are plenty of birds on the island, filled with fish. Two hundred years ago, a British whaling captain discovered the island and called it Happy Island. After 100 years, a petrified wood was taken from Nauru to Australia as a souvenir, attracting the attention of a chemist. After examination, he considered it very valuable, so organized a Nauru expedition. They are very confident that local aborigines live on the richest phosphate rock piles in the world. Much of the century has led to the shipment of millions of tons of the most advanced phosphates to Australia and New Zealand for fertilizer.
