本文从语言接触的角度来讨论汉译佛经中连接词“若”的特殊用法。当“若”用作表示选择的连接词时,可以用在两项并列成分的第一项之前,也可以用在多项并列成分的每一项之前;当“若”用作表示并列的连接词时,可以用在两项并列成分的每一项之前,也可以用在多项并列成分的每一项之前。通过梵汉对勘,本文得出的结论是:“若”字特殊用法的出现与佛经翻译有关。
This article discusses the special usage of connectives such as “若” in the Chinese Buddhist scriptures from the perspective of language contact. When “if ” is used as a connective to denote a choice, it can be used before the first term of both co-ordinates or before each term of a number of co-ordinates; when “if” is used as In the case of conjunctive connectives, it can be used before each of the two co-ordinated components or before each of the multiple co-ordinated components. Through the comparison between Sanskrit and Han, this paper concludes that the emergence of special usage of “if” is related to the translation of Buddhist sutras.
