孙竹先生则堪称我国现代印林中“开来继往”、“殊路出新”的杰出代表。他在几十年的金石生涯中,博采众长,兼融并蓄;印外求印,独树一帜。形成了“无师师更多,无体包各体,无法法齐备”的独特风格,他戏称自己的作品为“四不象的杂拌体”。我国金石书画界则公推他是“石上刀如笔,纸上笔如刀”的篆刻高手。并赢得“神刀”、“北京第一刀”、“印魔”的雅号。
