本文以Gardner的动机理论为框架,采用问卷和访谈的方法对中国大学英语教师的教学动机进行研究分析。研究发现,大学英语教师教学动机主要决定于内在动机,外在动机只起到中等偏低的作用,大多数大学英语教师的教学动机随年龄、教龄的增长和职称的提高而逐渐减弱。其中,影响教学动机的主要因素包括学生的学习积极性、部门凝聚力、科研压力,次重要因素有健康因素、学校内部的分配制度、教学设施、国外进修机会等。
Based on Gardner ’s motivation theory, this paper uses questionnaires and interviews to analyze the motivation of college English teachers in China. The study found that the motivation of college English teachers mainly depends on intrinsic motivation, external motivation only plays a role of lower middle school, most college English teachers’ teaching motivation gradually decreases with the increase of age, seniority and professional title. Among them, the main factors affecting teaching motivation include student motivation to learn, department cohesion, research pressure, secondary factors of health factors, the school’s internal distribution system, teaching facilities, foreign training opportunities.
