靳以与沈从文的同名小说《生存》,都以揭示艺术家的生存困境为主旨,写作手法却迥异。前者明显带有早期创作的情绪化宣泄印迹,体现了一种独特的主情性特点;后者的叙事方式则相对平实、克制,体现了京派文学尽量避免作家直接干预生活的特征。二者的鲜明反差足以证明,将靳以纳入京派文学的范畴,并不妥当。
Jin and Shen Congwen’s novel “Survival,” both of which are aimed at revealing the artist’s predicament, are different in writing style. The former obviously possesses the emotive catharsis marks of the early creations, showing a unique characteristic of the sentimentality. The latter narrative style is relatively flat and restrained, which reflects the characteristics that the Beijing school literature tries to avoid direct intervention by the writers. The sharp contrast between the two is enough to prove that it is improper to include Jin in the category of Beijing school literature.
