1河阳屯来了一批知识青年,山村自古好客,对城里人更加热情,尊称他们为“张知识”、“王知识”什么的。不过村民有点大舌头,听上去更像是“张鸡屎”、“王鸡屎”。这是方言所致,与他们后来偷吃村里的鸡并不相干。男知识们住在大队院南面的一间大房子里,很多年后,那儿还被老人们叫做知识屋,不过变成了生产队的牲口棚。知识青年中只有一个女知青,姓吴,也就是吴知识。吴知识当然不能和男知识们住在一起,她被安排在了小学校。
