里约热内卢已有400多年历史,1565年,葡萄牙人来到了这里,误以为此处是一个河湾,就把它命名为“一月的河”,它的译音就是“里约热内卢”。一位意大利政治家曾俯视着里约热内卢动情地惊呼:“它美得像个女人。”
Rio de Janeiro has been in existence for more than 400 years. In 1565, when the Portuguese came here and mistook it for a river bay, it named it “the river of January” and translated it as “Rio de Janeiro”. An Italian politician who looked down at Rio de Janeiro emotionally exclaimed: “It looks like a beautiful woman.”
