近年来,在国家民委的大力支持和领导下,湖南省深入贯彻落实习近平总书记扶贫开发重要战略思想,按照《武陵山片区区域发展与扶贫攻坚规划(2011-2020年)》要求,坚持把武陵山片区作为扶贫攻坚主战场,多措并举,开拓创新,狠抓落实,大力推动片区经济社会全面发展,片区精准扶贫工作取得效果明显。2016年,湖南武陵山片区贫困人口比2015年减少59.5万,全面建成小康社会实现程度达到90%以上。
