“Ind. Res.” Sept. 21, 1972: Kevex Corp. has developed a new thyroid scanner that does not require injection of radioactive iodine into patients when tested. Through the application of semiconductor x-ray spectroscopy, the distribution of iodine in thyroid can be measured. The gland area is scanned with a focused fluorescent source detector. The entire operation with a very small amount of total radiation (one hundred times smaller than the traditional method) to complete.
