Party branch secretary as a branch leader, its party spirit and leadership directly affect the grass-roots party organizations to play the role of battle. Peng Zhen, an older proletarian revolutionary, was arrested in June 1929 and has been held by the enemy in the Third Prison of Hebei Province, the Army Prison and the Second Prison of Hebei Province in Peking until his release in the autumn of 1935. In the meantime, Peng Zhen led the establishment of prisoners in prison, served as branch secretary (later as the core members of the branch), led the hunger strike, and achieved a series of victories.
