《幼儿园教育指导纲要》指出:“引导幼儿接触周围环境和生活中美好的人、事、物,丰富他们的感性经验和审美情趣,激发他们表现美、创造美的情趣。”中国民间剪纸作为一个古老而富于传统的艺术形式,千百年来一直传承于全国各地,成为最普及、最受大众欢迎的艺术品种。它抒发着人民的情与美,孕育发展着博大精深的民族文化,不仅表现了人们的审美爱好,也是中国最具特色的民艺之一。但现在的孩子对剪纸知之甚少,只知道剪纸作品很漂亮。学习剪纸不仅能锻炼幼儿双手的灵活性、协调性,培养幼儿的耐心和细心,提高幼儿的动手能力,而且有利于提高幼儿对剪纸这一民间艺术的认识和理解,了解民俗风情,熟悉生活,帮助幼儿形成正确的审美观,陶冶情操。
