有不少财团在香港被称为“南洋帮”或“过江龙”,指的是东南亚国家的在香港进行经贸活动的大中型财团,更多的是指其中的华人财团。 东南亚的华侨、华人资本,在历史上与香港有着密不可分的关系。但近年来,香港经济界的一些人士却担心:“九七”香港回归,会否令南洋华资财团收缩在港业务活动?有人忧虑:中国与东南亚的政治经济关系大大改善后,香港的中介作用会缩小,南洋华资财团也可能会减少在港的经济活动。
There are many consortiums in Hong Kong known as “Nanyang Gang” or “Jiang Long”. They refer to the large and medium-sized financial conglomerates of Southeast Asian countries that conduct economic and trade activities in Hong Kong. They refer more to the Chinese consortium. The overseas Chinese and the Chinese capital in Southeast Asia have historically been inseparable from Hong Kong. However, in recent years, some people in Hong Kong’s economic circles are concerned that whether the return of Hong Kong in 1997 will cause the Nanyang Chinese-funded consortium to shrink its business activities in Hong Kong. Some people worry that the political and economic relations between China and Southeast Asia have greatly improved after the Hong Kong intermediary. The role will shrink, and the Nanyang-owned Chinese consortium may also reduce its economic activity in Hong Kong.
