Due to its special spatial attributes, source-sink data in modern economic statistics has unique research significance in the analysis of trade networks. Based on the data of the export trade in the old customs of China, this paper analyzes the spatial distribution of the tax trade network of many ports in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River in the late 19th century, tentatively defines the population of Hankou, Jiujiang, Zhenjiang, Shanghai, Ningbo And compared with other research methods, analyzes the feasibility of defining the hinterland by using the port tax trade on behalf of the port trade as a whole. This paper explores the value of using source-sink data in the study of modern economic history, tries tentatively to analyze the network space, and paves the way for more digging, attention and research on source-sink data.
