Confrontation between the Labor Party and the Conservative Party to Replace the Liberal Party and the Conservative Party is the most important political phenomenon in Britain in the early 20th century. The emergence of this phenomenon is inextricably linked with the establishment of the Labor Party and its aggressive political efforts and moderate social policies. It is also closely linked to the Liberal Party’s dual status and its internal divisions. The special attraction of the Conservative values and the flexibility of its policies in the era of change enable it to maintain its status as a major party and continue to play an important role in the political arena of the 20th century. The struggle between the Labor Party and the Conservative Party for governing power promoted the formation of the British “consensus politics” after World War II.
