In recent years, the technology of data interpretation of electric measurement is changing rapidly. Its application is no longer confined to the estimation of oil reserves, but also shows the morphology and formation conditions of formation traps and structural traps. This paper attempts to take the western part of Taiwan as an example to discuss the types of oil and gas traps in this area based on the interpretation of electrical data and the data of lithology, earthquake and oil testing. All wells in the western part of Taiwan and adjacent wells were drilled after 1978, and the electrical survey data are more comprehensive. Therefore, this paper tries to study the paleo-sedimentary environment and tectonic movement in this area. Provide reference materials for further exploration in this area. The sandstone at the top of the Mu Mountain in western Taiwan is a deltaic deposit. The impact of the river is mainly in the northern part of the area, and the role of the riverway gradually decreases to the south and transforms into a gulf sedimentation at the mouth of the river. In the middle of this area, there are two kinds of environment near “Taixi No. 1 Well” due to the river
