The political meaning of Milton’s work is one of the focuses of contemporary Western scholarship. In-depth inquiry into this field is conducive to fully understanding the close and complicated relationship between English literature in the 17th century and modern political and religious reforms. Through a comprehensive analysis of Milton’s classic texts, it is not difficult to find that Milton’s profound understanding of the concepts of king, autocracy, freedom, rights, republics and so on stems from the Christian theology itself. At the same time, he is still learning about religious reform, Based on the concept of “Republicanism” and “classical republicanism”, the political theology concept of “Puritan republicanism” that is highly characteristic of England is refined. This provides the modern European and American countries with a theologicalist concept of right and freedom.
