北京大学化学系肇始于1910年成立的京师大学堂格致科化学门,是国立大学中最早设立的化学系,1994年更名为化学与分子工程学院(简称“化学学院”)。北京大学化学学院目前下设有化学系、材料化学系、高分子科学与工程系、应用化学系和化学生物学系等5个系,无机化学研究所、分析化学研究所、有机化学研究所、物理化学研究所和理论与计算化学研究所等5个研究所,以及化学基础教学实验中心。学院管理运行2个国家重点实验室、
