This paper explores the relationships between the copper mines of the Jiangxi Province and the Centrol Plains in the,cia, Sheng and Zhou Dynasties. Based on the oracle bone inscriptions and archaeological finds, the author concludes that a large amount of copper which the three Dynasties needed came from the middle and lower Yangtze River valley. The finding of the Erlitou and the Shang cultures in the Yangtze River valley, on the other hand, signifies the conclusion
