随着国民经济发展的需要。全国高速公路的建设速度日益加快。目前,在已建成的高速公路收费中,虽然在收费方式上各异,但基本上都是采用原始的人工识别、手工收费方法。对于这种收费法,一旦管理措施不力,将导致个别工作人员作弊,损害高速公路收费的声誉。为此,北京市公路局与有关单位合作,研制成功了高速公路自动计费机,并在京石高速公路收费中应用,取得了显著的效果。
