The gold-rich mineralization of the Kalfok mine is a superimposed mineral of copper-gold skarn. Geological and geochemical studies and the geo-statistical comparison of gold distribution in Cu-Au skarn and gold-rich mineralization suggest that gold is precipitated in two separate and distinct geological events: 1. Precipitation events, precipitated in skarn ore with copper under the control of a variety of factors; 2. Rich gold mineralization events, forming gold-rich ore bodies in skarn rocked by Parnell limestone. The gold content of the ore-forming material at this stage is much higher than that of the skarn ore. The alteration is characterized by the presence of clay pyrite and quartz-pyrite (arsenic tetrahedrite), Au, As, Sb, Hg, Si, S and Tl abnormalities and loss of Pd, Ca and Se. According to petrographic and electronic probe studies, gold-rich mineralization has at least three scenes; gold-rich mineralization precedes the formation of quartz-molybdenum vein. The statistical characteristics of gold-rich ores differ from copper-gold mineralization in histograms, scatter plots and variograms. The average gold grade for the gold-rich combination is 0.3 ounces / short ton (about 10.29 ppm - Editor’s). Directional variance plots of skarn ore indicate that the distance between the N 20 ° E diffuse fault set and the contact zone to the Binghamite controls gold and copper grade. The elevation of the ore body appears to be an additional controlling factor for gold grade in skarn. The rich gold-rich ore bodies in the Parnell limestone have a depleted drilling reserve of 1.2 Mt. There is evidence that the ore body extends some distance beyond the limits of existing drilling controls.
