自古以来,中国文化中神仙人、妖魔鬼怪、魑魅魍魉等,身份互为交织,性格、职能等也互相置换,而且大多是由真人幻化而成。他们代表了人间的各种人物形貌与性格,做着与人极为相同的事情。人们在想象中,把他们的各种生活景象、人物关系、行为模式等给以演化,最后都终结于人类自身——人们制造了另一个与自身世界平行的虚幻空间。钟馗的形象,就是这样一种牵强附会出的形象,是一种充满矛盾心理的复合体。最早记载钟馗的,是《全唐诗》
