语言是社会现象,是文化载体,同时又是文化的一个重要组成部分。词汇是语言各要素中的基本要素,因文化差异在词汇层面上必然有所体现,对词汇的解释也必然能体现民族或文化之间的差异。对于跨文化交际来讲,词汇教学不能为教词汇而教词汇,文化差异是词汇教学的一个重要组成部分。只有通过对中英文化差异进行比较,使学生在学习词汇的过程中真正领会到词的涵义,并能正确运用所学到的词汇进行交际,才能真正达到词汇教学的目的。
Language is a social phenomenon, a carrier of culture and an important component of culture at the same time. Vocabulary is the basic element of the various elements of language, because of cultural differences at the lexical level must be reflected, the interpretation of the vocabulary will inevitably be able to reflect the national or cultural differences. For cross-cultural communication, vocabulary teaching can not teach vocabulary for teaching vocabulary. Cultural differences are an important part of vocabulary teaching. Only by comparing the cultural differences between China and Britain so that students can truly understand the meaning of the word while they are learning the vocabulary and can correctly use the vocabulary they have learned to communicate can the purpose of vocabulary teaching be truly achieved.
