In the treatment of arrhythmia, synchronous DC shock therapy has been promoted by some scholars to replace the status of drug treatment. Since synchronous DC shock therapy has been recommended, there have been many reports that it is the most effective way to terminate many arrhythmias. McDonald and Resnekov point out that even with aggressive drug therapy that still does not convert atrial fibrillation or flutter into sinus rhythm, successful DC-DC recovery can be achieved. Although the success rate of synchronous DC shock is high, it is not without complications. A group of 200 patients were reported to have a total complication rate of 14.5%; electrical energy was 6% at 150 Joules and increased to 30% at 400 Joules. Equally important is the ability to maintain DC after a successful cardioversion
