在传统文化笼罩下的古代中国,社会对于日渐进入中国人叙事生活中的“砖石雕刻艺术”表现出更加民族化的角色期望和时代召唤。作为主体性的工艺美术品类成为中国人心中向外人叙事和讲述个体超越物质世界的策略与诉求,它逐渐上升为一种民族内在的主体性话语,将得天独厚的砖石雕刻历史影像镌刻在砖与石这两种现实的文化承载体上,向世人诉说着砖石雕刻艺术的材料美、构成美、题材美,从而体现出中国传统的人文气息特性。
