Objective To explore and analyze the effect of protection motivation theory on nursing intervention in patients with high risk of diabetes. Methods Ninety-six patients with high-risk diabetic foot admitted to our hospital from January 2016 to February 2017 were selected as study subjects and randomly divided into control group (n = 48), who were treated with conventional nursing interventions. On the basis of routine nursing intervention, The observation group (48 cases) based on the theory of protective motivation nursing intervention for 6 months, compared the two groups of patients with foot self-care ability, foot status and the patient’s blood glucose level. Results After nursing, the foot self-care ability, foot condition and blood glucose level in the observation group were better than those in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). Conclusion The theory of protective motivation has significant effect on nursing intervention in patients with high risk of diabetic foot, which can effectively improve the patients’ foot self-care ability, improve foot condition and blood glucose level of patients with obvious effect and worthy of clinical promotion.
