This paper introduces the working principle, main functions and features of the locomotive pantograph catenary dynamic monitoring system, the composition of each part and the on-site installation and usage. This system recognizes the breakdown of the pantograph catenary through the images taken by the camera, and uses the hard disk recording technology to save and retrieve the data, which provides an important technical equipment for the safe operation of the electrified railway.
