Since the successful introduction of the jet flotation cell in the 80s of the last century,extensive theoretical and experimental work has been continuously conducted for the optimization and renovation of the structural parameters of the trough,aerator-agitator mechanism,the pattern of pulp flow in cell and the pulp feeding mode of this kind of cell. Based on the result of the study and through optimum selection of a pulp circulating pump capable of working with a higher efficiency and longer service life in collaboration with the specialized pump producer,the 3rd-generation FJC series jet flotation cell (FJC cell for short) was successfully developed. Now,7 sizes of the FJC cells are available,with a unit volume per cell ranging from 4m3 to 20m3 (See Table 1). These cells are now in operation at 130-odd coal preparation plants.
