Objective To investigate the correlation between self-efficacy and medical coping style and quality of life in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Methods Some patients with RA were investigated by using General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSES), Medical Coping Style Questionnaire (MCMQ) and Health Survey Profile (SF-36). Results The average self-efficacy score of RA patients in this study was (20.88 ± 4.49) points, and the self-efficacy of RA patients was at the low and middle level. Correlation analysis showed that the self-efficacy of RA patients was positively correlated with the face-to-face and avoidance factors (P <0.01) and negatively correlated with the yield factors (P <0.01). The scores of self-efficacy and quality of life (P <0.01 or P <0.05). There was a positive correlation between six dimensions and physiological function, physiological function, mental health, somatic pain, general health and emotional function. Conclusion The self-efficacy of patients with RA is closely related to their medical coping style and quality of life. The clinical nurses should give targeted interventions to improve the self-efficacy of patients with RA so that they can actively manage the disease, promote their physical and mental health and quality of life improve.
