Objective To investigate the prevalence of metabolic syndrome (MS) in patients with primary aldosteronism (primary aldosteronism). Methods The clinical data of 110 patients with primary aldosteronism diagnosed and treated in our hospital from January 2000 to January 2011 were collected and retrospectively analyzed to analyze the prevalence of MS in this population. Results The prevalence of MS in patients with primary aldehyde was 50.9%. Among the various components of MS, hypertension was caused by disorders of glucose metabolism (impaired glucose regulation and diabetes mellitus), overweight or obesity, hypertriglyceridemia (TG) The detection rates of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL) were 90.1%, 34.5%, 23.6%, 20.1% and 9.0%, respectively. Conclusions Primary aldosteronism patients have higher incidence of MS. Once diagnosed, active treatment should be carried out to reduce the metabolic abnormalities and increase the risk of cardiovascular events.
