Schistosomiasis is a serious parasitic disease that seriously threatens human life and health. Its pathogenesis is still not clear at present. MicroRNA is an endogenous small-molecule RNA that is widely involved in the regulation of physiological and pathological processes by regulating the function of genes after transcription. Currently, the function of miRNAs in schistosomiasis is a hot topic in the field of schistosomiasis research, including the identification and function of miRNAs, the function of host miRNAs in disease progression, the study of serum miRNA expression profiles, and the extracellular vesicle miRNAs Identification and functional studies. These findings have deepened people’s understanding of the pathogenesis of schistosomiasis and are expected to translate into new diagnostic markers and drug targets for schistosomiasis. This review summarizes the progress of miRNAs in schistosomiasis.
