This article focuses on the AIDS narrative in the memoirs of “My Country” written by Abraham Fogg, the contemporary American physician writer, from a cross-disciplinary perspective of literature and medicine. This article argues that the identities of Foggis and his gay HIV / AIDS sufferers provide an opportunity for mutual recognition. Despite the unavoidable limitations of Fajius’s AIDS narrative, his writing strongly toughened the nerves of homophobic enemies, challenged the hegemonic politics of heterosexuals and made the HIV / AIDS and homosexual communities invisible Visible change.
