In recent years, the use of continuous intravenous infusion of insulin to treat diabetes has achieved good results and can almost normalize blood glucose as effectively as the use of an artificial endocrine pancreas (artificial pancreas). However, long-term intravenous administration can cause limited use due to infection, thrombosis, obstruction of the catheter, or intolerance. Artificial pancreas not only has such problems, but also the equipment is complex, expensive and more difficult to apply widely. Pickup et al. (1977) pioneered the use of a portable two-speed syringe pump (Mill Hill input device) for continous subcutaneous insulin infusion (CSII) in the treatment of adolescent type 2 diabetes. Initial reports included 14 (12) 5 cases of blood glucose decreased significantly
