古海洋学是随着深海钻探而成长起来的新兴学科。近十年来,由于氧同位素古温度测定、超导磁力仪古地磁测年和液压活塞取样器等三方面的技术进步,使古海洋学得到了迅猛的发展。例如,1980年深海钻探计划在南大西洋的第73航次,便取得了整个第三纪的地层磁性年代表等五项重大科研成果。展望今后十年,古海洋学将继续发展。国内必须实行各单位、各系统之间的科研合作,才能在古海洋学方面做出贡献,才能促进海洋科学技术的现代化。
Paleoceanography is a new discipline that has grown up with deep-sea drilling. In the past ten years, paleoceanography has been rapidly developed due to the ancient temperature measurement of oxygen isotopes, the ancient geomagnetic dating of superconducting magnetometers and the hydraulic piston sampler. For example, in the 73rd voyage of the deep-sea drilling program in the South Atlantic in 1980, five major scientific achievements such as the formation magnetic age of the entire Tertiary Period were obtained. Looking forward to the next decade, Paleoceanography will continue to develop. In order to promote the modernization of marine science and technology, we must carry out scientific research cooperation among various units and systems in order to make contributions in paleoceanography.
