The Tianjin Blood Center is the only provincial blood collection and supply institution in the city. The functions of the center are: to provide whole blood and blood components for all medical institutions in the city; to be responsible for the clinical consultation and technical guidance for clinical blood transfusion and rational blood use at all levels of the city’s medical institutions; and to monitor the blood quality.
